liner notes: A blend of Jazz, Rock, Pop and Drum' n' Bass âEUR" thatâEURTMs the sound of JADE, the current project of the Bernese drummer and percussionist Martin Stadelmann. He labels the mixture as "acoustic pop-jazz", presenting itself dynamically sometimes soft and airy, sometimes hard and dense, however always atmospheric and dynamic. With Sibylle Fässler (vocals, lyrics), Dave Scherler (piano, Fender Rhodes), and Pascal "P" Käser (bass) Stadelmann has assembled a group of musicians, who have presented their talents in innumerable projects.
The passionate musicians studied their craft at renowned institutions such as the Swiss Jazz School Bern, the Berklee College of Music and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA).
And so with Yano, JADE presents its new album. Yano âEUR" the two-faced God of the entrances and exits, the contrast of melancholy and cheerfulness. Yano - the "Divine Trickster" of the Afro-Caribbean mythology, who at times is friendly and virtuous, and then cunning and sly.
These dualities are reflected in Martin StadelmannâEURTMs compositions that are defined through a layered, dense and dynamic sound. The band successfully fuses the various influences to a homogeneous entity.
Through this time and time again multiple and unexpected moods are produced. Sibylle Fässler, responsibly also for the lyrics, paints, underlines and reinforces with her singing the moods in a strongly captivating manner. The sound of the album is rounded off by the two guest musicians, Andreas Kühnrich (cello) and Nick Perrin (guitar).
